Anyway let's not stray off topic, this thread is about Arsenal - unless you are trying to use smoke and mirrors to make it about FSG...
nope let's stay on the Arsenal trail...I know Usimov has tried to gain control before and it's seems he's not happy with the direction it's going so wants to gain control to take in in another direction, gaining power will allow him to do that. Yeh interesting part will come if he's not successful with his takeover...am sure the Everton owner will try all he can to get him onboard if he can and I know there really close friends...maybe the decision Usimov will have to make will be does he stay second fiddle at a bigger club like Arsenal or does he plough his dough into a smaller Club and turn into a big Club where he will be the main man...decisions...decisions...I think Everton have the foundations and infinstructure to potentially build up to the top clubs already in place...

I can remember us saying that about United back in the 80's. Arsenal in the 90's and Spurs 10 years ago and they have all blown us out of the water now...the worst one was Spurs...years ago Spurs where nothing more than a Cup team never got anywhere near us League wise and now we have finished ahead of them in the League about twice in last ten or eleven years...proper power switch and that's before they move into there new state of the art stadium...gap will widen. Everton are a build in progress, would like to have this discussion with you in another 8 or so years when it all kicks in and see where both clubs are then both on and off the field...

News coming out of Arsenal is that the bid will be turned down, if true be interesting to see what The Russian does next and if he decides to pull out of Arsenal as he might feel he is never going to gain control, he does have money invested in Everton so he might increase his stake in that...

you could well be right with all those things...time will tell but I suppose it's all about risking in order to get these things, Spurs are hoping to get up there with the big three in this country and think a new stadium, manager and players all together will give them that chance, Everton slightly different they seem to be targeting a slightly lower target of maybe just gatecrashing the top four, they are hoping this new rich owner, new stadium. Secured the future generations of local support maintaining the Clubs identity and maybe Koeman staying will propel them up there. If you look at us, since FSG have come in they have trimmed the wage bill, got the big earners off the books, brought in a manager who has a history of getting the best out of poor to average players, decided against us moving to a new stadium because of money, sold our best players most seasons and have told us that we will now spend within our means which is fine if your rivals adopt the same tactics...just an alternative way of looking at things but everything true

11 . Spangles still on lfconline, but there's only 2 active people remaining so he talks to himself instead.

    You forgot that bit
