we don't need any defensive midfield players.. not when the entire team apart from the goalkeeper in the opposition half. Like it was today.. against better teams that counter we will suffer.. Like we did in the man city game.

I was very, very disappointed with Wijnaldum having one of his "ghost" performances today and looked for some stats.

    15 passes
    1 shot
    0 chance created
    0 tackles
    0 aerial duels
    0 interceptions
    0 take-ons

That looks on paper like a midfielder hiding from the ball. We can't carry someone like that. Wijnaldum has genuinely good games but today, on the face of it, was a shocker. I'd play AoC or Milner or something next game out.
    Thats simply outrageous.

I dont rate him, some do...I just don't and will never see it

Why is that news to anyone?

An observation on today's game, Sturridge is shot to fucking pieces. Should have been bombed out in the summer.

It's 7 games in to the season and apparently we're not making top 4, or Klopp should walk, or questions should be asked, or some other such shite. Get a fucking grip will you!
    This all day long.

There was a stat I saw somewhere recently which I can't currently find.

A lot of people say "Klopp didn't play with a DM at Dortmund" and Klopp certainly encourages a no. 6 to have a "box to box" nature, but Henderson, who is our .6, it turns out clocks up 1.5 successful tackles/winnings of the ball per game.

Sven Bender on the other hand would get it back (in 2 seasons under Klopp) something like 3.7 times per game, playing in front of the back four.

That's certainly bound to have helped - most DMs would be happy with that.

I'd love a specialist screening the back four with Coutinho and Keita ahead.

He's usually better at home but 100%, I was really miffed with that performance and hopefully he puts in an epic performance for us soon, or his rotated replacement excels.

    Post of the season.
He's out. And you're out, too. And I don't think I'm in, either. No gang!

Was working throughout the match and only heard a few minutes on the radio between jobs.

Anyway looking at stats on whoscored.

I'm only interested in one stat, and that's the result. 1-1 at Newcastle isn't the worst result in the world, i'd expect us to beat them at home though.
If football was meant to be played in the air, god would have put grass in the sky.
