The teflon labour party/leader imo is merely a great way to miss the landscape looking for a cause. Guess we'll see come 2024.

Jess Phillips I hear rumoured as the next labour party leader, she's not seen as being responsible for the election fails apparently, the Tories have had 2 female primeministers and so labour need one its claimed 🙄

I gave up on politics a long long time ago. People turn a blind eye very quickly.

Its been a shambles since Brexit. The feathering their own nests has never been so blatent and obvious.
They cant be trusted at all (not that they have been trustworthy), but British politics now is so fractured its unreal. Labour havent had a strong leader in over a decade. They are a total mess and its been easy for the worst govt this country has ever seen to completley piss another election. It sums this country up. A govt that has seen record levels of debt, continually fucking over the education system, public services and councils decimated,a complete baffoon prime minister whos said racist things, stereotyped people and they have landslided an election. All Labour had to do was get their act together just half way. They couldnt even do that.

David Cameron will never know the damage hes done.

Johnson abandoned one nation toryism. For that reason I think he may let Scotland go to guarantee Tory rule for decades.

Agree with that. Just wrote a shorter version pretty much the same feeling.

Possibly not wanting to be too disrespectful to Corbyn.

Tbf you couldn't have voted for a party and not be supporting bigots of some kind or the other. Such is the climate today.

Please clarify JLM and HOC if you will.
As you mention, Thatcher was trying to negotiate in secret while Corbyn was doing it openly and thereby appearing to be supportive of the terrorists. I don't feel that Corbyn explained his actions sufficiently, which would have changed people's perceptions.
Diane Abbott hasn't I believe condemned ISIS or the return of naive British nationals who joined ISIS.
I certainly agree with your comments regarding teflon.
From a personal point of view I would like to see the Labour party addressing homelesness, food banks and communities.
I look forward to a better run, teflon Labour party competing in the next General Election.
JLM is the Jewish Labour Movement, they're not affiliated to the party officially, the majority of their members aren't Jewish or members of the Labour party. If you search on google you will find a lot about the history of the Israeli gov donating to politicians through third parties in numerous nations to create such groups in order to smear politicians who want to recognise a Palestine state criticise atrocities and breaches of international law against it, they're trying it in the US right now with Bernie Sanders and he's Jewish FFS. JLM was one such group and was disbanded a few years back when it was unable to make inroads into the party, it was refounded as soon as Corbyn was elected leader for the purposes and reasons described.

    HOC in House of commons

I had an issue with Corbyn not calmly stating what the issue re alleged antisemitism in the party was and admitting there were incidents that could be construed as antisemitic, but they were practically all incidents of people using language that left wing Jewish labour party members used, and of course we all know and should know and respect that language used towards each other by minorities is often not appropriate for someone who isn't of that minority to use, so there is a need for education, but they weren't acts of genuine antisemitism. The worst and most stupid one I read about was someone trying to use an image of the Israeli flag soaked in blood to represent Israeli Gov having blood on their hands, that's just plain stupid, of course Jewish people are going to find that offensive as the Jewish flag has the star related to the Jewish faith as part of their flag, education, education, education.

I also had an issue with the sheer volume of policies, need to keep it simpler, too many policies, even great ones, isn't a good thing and makes it very easy for the media to say they can't afford or deliver them all and makes a lot of voters who will never read a manifesto in their life miss them.

    Should keep it simple:

We'll remove privatisation from the NHS and fully fund it
We'll build social housing and end homelessness
We'll create a £10 per hour minimum wage for all ages and end foodbank use
We'll create 1000's of jobs with a Green Industrial revolution and it will be an enterprise that generates money as we'll also be supplying it to the worldwide market
We'll make sure older people receive free social care
We'll renationalise other public services over time because of existing contracts starting with Rail after we've sorted the NHS out

Labour were blurting out every policy, they should have all the policies that support all of that ready to speak about when they are scrutinised, but for the campaign, stick to simple core messages on key issues

I'm hoping for Rebecca Long-Bailey as leader with Angela Rayner as deputy

Labour's policies are very popular and they have huge support among 18-40 year olds

They need to stick with their social justice movement, with a leader that hasn't got a history it's easy to attack and lie about

By 2024 it's likely to be 60% support among 18-45 year olds while millions of Tory stalwart older voters will no longer be with us

I think it's absolutely vital they don't repeat the NewLabour mistake. The switch to right of centre politics came at the same time we could easily have had a socialist UK Labour Gov elected to affect real change and reverse a lot of the damage the Tories had done in 20 years in power and a lot more easily than will ever be possible in the future because of NewLabour not representing Scotland, and working class people in most former Labour heartlands who voted for them

If you look at it, despite giving greater funding to health, education and youth services, NewLabour had no lasting legacy, they didn't reverse any of what the Tories had done to make for a more equal and sustainable society moving forward and in reality all they did was continue the staus quo while putting policy in place that left it wide open to be hugely exploited by Tories if they returned to power, which they of course did

That's what the media are trying to do now, they know in 5 years time the Tories are well and truly fucked if Labour continue their movement and the gravy train of stealing billions of tax payers money through privatisation and paying poverty wages while making incredible profits will be brought to a stop, so they are continuing to put right wing Labour Mps on all their shows to try and rubbish the movement as they want to find another sell out like Blair who will maintain the status quo when the Tories are well and truly fucked
