    3rd to 6th

That mini-table is becoming pretty interesting all-of-a-sudden isn't it?

4 clubs within 4 points of each other...

    Spurs - 48 - play Fulham tomorrow
    Chelsea 47
    Arsenal- 44
    Man Utd 44

Be even more interesting if Man City dropped down to join them!

If Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal (who play Spurs) all win this weekend, the 4 sides will be within 4 points of each other once more - and indeed Chelsea would have a game in hand.

Tottenham (again, Arsenal need to win) could be sucked into a Champion's League qualification battle very quickly here - if they don't quality they're in an interesting spot - Eriksen, Alderweireld and Vertonghen all have contracts that are running down in 12-18 months or so - plus they've got a shiny stadium to pay off.

An intriguing side-show to observe as a (brief!) distraction from our own goals when nail-biting becomes too unbearable

Bollocks! I thought that problem disappeared once Carra retired and Skrtel was sold???

The thing is we could spare ourselves the angst of a title challenge and drop down to Spurs level where we can be reasonably confident of top 4 but without the stress, and people would say nice things about us again.

It's nice not to be involved in the fight for 4th place. I've always found it incredibly stressful for relatively little reward. Yes, the Champions League is important, but finishing fourth in anything doesn't really amount to success.

Looking at our fixtures, we only have one Saturday fixture! I'm guessing Sky have had a say in that, we also have two Friday night games in the last 10.

It will be tough for City too, they were never repeating what happened last season.
There are only 2 teams in Liverpool. Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves. (Bill Shankly)
