Worth noting - playing alongside Ronaldinho and Iniesta makes life easier for all concerned but Xavi was a one off.

Aye Xavi and Iniesta ze mentality monsters, Ronaldinho a footballer that induced a smile from the football. Some great youtubes of Ronaldinho, the blindfold keepy up challenge and playing 1-2s with the cross bar.

Starts the cross bar after 1:45

Shows how great messi is to keep them at or pretty close to the top after losing these players and puyol too. Current midfield nowhere near that one.

Their transfer policy has been rubbish, Xabi was pretty much a one off, the lad from Ajax is not the answer, Iniesta was awesome, completely surprised they haven't attempted to get B. Silva from City, he's the most Iniesta type I've seen

Just like with Argentina, Messi is NOT playing for a poor side by any stretch of the imagination. He plays alongside some of the world's best players who are built around him. Being at or around the top of the table in effectively a two team league hardly takes a Herculean effort, especially when both Real Madrid and Atletico Madid are not in the greatest of shapes.

I know they're not exactly crsp or anything like that. Still take him out and I think they're significantly weakened.
