Look at Microsoft Windows and how it's populating the planet, irrespective of how shit and "overweight" it is, with constant, never-ending "upgrades/updates" (bug fixes).

They must like their sleep then, they haven't won anything of note for 50 years.

True. Theres loads of "sleeping Giants". Birmingham City are the best supported team in the Midlands, its unreal how they've never been acquired in a buyout. The whole package is there ready for the taking. Same with Leeds Utd.

Indeed, I wouldn't mind seeing Leeds back in the premier league. The rivalry wouldn't be as intense as it was in the 60s or 70s, but they would bring a large following with them. They are a well supported team.

It will be even harder to get players to go to Newcastle... the location isnt the best.
They'll have to pay extra for that too.

They will need to attract a decent manager, and then HE has the job of trying to get them to sign for them. Steve Bruce has won nothing as a manager apart from a few promotions so he will be looking over his shoulder when the takeover is completed. When Man City first become wealthy about 10 years ago, the players signed for the money, it wasn't because they were successful. Newcastle fans deserve a better owner than the one they have now. While Benitez was pleading for money to get better players in, Ashley was bailing out House of Fraser when they called in the receivers, he was never good for that club.
