People scoffed at what Van Dijk and Alisson cost. The way things are going, those fees will be small talk in no time.
If you're not sure what to do with the ball, just put it in the net, and we'll talk about the other options later... Bob Paisley.

So we're probably going to see some teams spending now with a view to trying to compensate by making a few sales later (summer window just prior to 21/22 for example) whilst other clubs may seek to break even or even make a slight net profit with a view to possibly spending slightly more money later when the financial landscape is a little more clear.
So buy now deal wit it later? something Man-city have been doing for 10 year.. 200 lawyers will be needed in 21/22

It’s peanuts to Roman.. The guy is Clearly flexing his muscles knowing that Uefa are impotent and highly unlikely to challenge him now he has an Israeli passport. Chelsea are now free to do as they please like the gulf owned clubs.

Also they have made around £170 million odd in sales recently - they are spending now to make up for a few leaner seasons in the market - all due to Roman becoming persona non grata over here.. that is over.

Yes and look at what happens when you go out and buy the best.. The reality is though - it would have been much harder for us to bag Virgil and Alisson had Chelsea been free like they are now to spend.

Tbh miller, they didn't spend anything last summer and they got a bunch of money for Hazard and Morata before iirc. Something norh of 150m + they got their massive wage bills off the books. Don't know how much it balances out their monster outlay though.

£170 million plus they made... but did buy Kovacic last summer . £40 million I think

    Incoming summer 2020

Timo Werner (RB Leipzig) - £50million

Ben Chilwell (Leicester City) - £50million

    Hakim Ziyech (Ajax) - £37million

Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain) - Free

    Malang Sarr (Nice) - Free

Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen) - £90million (incoming)

    Outgoing since 2014

    Eden Hazard - £100million

    Diego Costa - £60million

    Oscar - £54million

    Alvaro Morata - £50million

    Nemanja Matic _ £40million

    Thibaut Courtois - £30million

Other high-fee departures such as Alvaro Morata , Thibaut Courtois , Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic and Oscar have allowed the Blues more freedom to operate in the transfer market.

Chelsea were also affected by their transfer ban presented to UEFA, which only allowed them to sign loanee Mateo Kovacic for £40million last summer.

I don't think it has - we just don't want to get ripped off and are playing our cards close to the chest. We're also being conservative due to the difficult to predict times in which we live.

Were they also banned from buying players in 2018?

Think it was muted? On the cards.. not sure. Roman was on the cusp of having assets seized by the UK. Totally lost interest in Football. Remember I live less than a mile from the Chelsea training ground at Stoke D’Abernon. It has been the talk of the town since before 2018 summer window even

But does show that both us and City have been aided by a handicapped Chelsea.
