    I thought it was just the same is in regular time? If the game was tied over the two legs after they had scored we needed to win the game outright on aggregate. A draw was no good for us over aggregate as soon as they scored.

    Away goals only count when the scoreline is tied. So when the score was 2-1 to us they were going through on the away goal.
    Had we won 3-1, 3-2 on aggregate, we progress.

    That's what I presumed.. so what the other posters and Simeone are saying is that the slate should be wiped clean after the draw and all goals treated equally. That makes sense
