That's true, there is a Goldfish bowl mentality in the UK and other capitalist societies

During the last election 'The North' seemingly forgot that it was 40 years of Toryism that devastated it and that 9 years of Tory austerity immediately before that election had made things even worse

They seem incapable of following the thread of the history of UK politics and instead buy into the mostly fake latest news that is peddled around election time.

The EU referendum was equally as bad, people happily blaming the EU for the Uk's issues, when they had all been caused by 40 years of Toryism and increasingly aggressive capitalism.

There are lots of examples of this, one of the many from the EU ref was fishermen blaming the EU for the decline of their industry, when just 3 years earlier several fishing areas had protested against the Gov about the number of second homes in their area. The second homes sky rocketed house prices, meaning many who had fished there for generations found it impossible to get property in their own fishing town. With the second homes came people buying boats for leisure, sky rocketing mooring costs. THAT is was fucked UK fishing in numerous areas.

And exactly how do these fishermen think they will benefit from our leaving the EU? They'll be worse off, the Tories always push for a 'free market' (which we all know isn't really free, but that's another story) So the most likely thing that will happen is the Gov will get UK fishing rights back, privatise them so their mates can make huge profits from other people's businesses and hard work and license areas where companies from Europe who currently fish those areas and have become reliant on doing so, to the exact same businesses for private profit. Our fishermen will be absolutely screwed - I have absolutely no sympathy for thick idiots who can't 'follow the thread'

I have a couple of questions...

The 2nd homes; are they owned by Syrian immigrants? (To push up house prices...)

Next question; if the Tories are so bad why do labour fail?

Ahhhh the good old "Biased Broadcasting Corporation", made up of a ludicrously disproportionate number of Oxbridge graduates, where you're only allowed to air your view in full (and without interruption) if you have the same far left, anti poor, anti white, anti heterosexual, anti male agenda, won't/don't criticise anything that falls outside that section of society (no matter how deserving of criticism they may be), and think the EU is perfect in every way and that if you don't you're automatically a racist.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg:- https://www.spiked-online.com/2019/08/02/the-bbc-is-failing-in-its-obligation-to-be-fair/

The Beeb is VERY neo liberal and always has been.

As for Aitkin - he is part of the problem - there is a MUCH bigger topic to discuss and he wouldn't dare broach it..

I would urge you to watch it - all of it - and things will start to make sense..

You have all been told to worry about Putin while the US has surrounded Russia and China both with it's own bases and or NATO..
There is no genuine truth or balance left in British journalism - it is all controlled - gated and kept within the narrative. Brexit is a TINY microcosm - people in Britain need to raise their vision and look to the horizon before it's too late..

Lol you know the answer to those questions Dicko, the second homes are of course owned by white middle class to upper middle class British nationals

Labour fail for a few reasons

The main stream media in the UK is owned by billionaires who would have to pay their taxes and their staff properly and whose avenues to other revenue from having considerable shares or vested interests in the companies who benefit from effectively stealing 100's of billions of tax payers money from the public purse each year. Building social housing would devalue their property portfolios and end their lucrative rental revenue streams, a lot of them from housing benefit.

Labour keep stupidly banging on about socialism, when they should keep a lid on that and attack the Tories on their record and make sure everyone is aware that each term the Tories are elected they are in a minimum 1.5 trillion deficit through privatisation, tax evasion and tax avoidance before any spending plans

The UK public are stupid and have this Goldfish bowl mentality described in my original post. They are incredibly politically unaware and only pay attention to the latest news and completely forget how we arrived where we are.

They fall for things like the right wing rags banging on about brown outs and black outs during the strikes in the 70's, when it's quite obvious, unless you're completely fucking stupid, that our national grid has A. Been run down for years without the companies who make 100's of billions of profit each year from supplying gas and electric having any responsibility for investing in the infrastructure B. The brown outs and black outs in the 70's were because the energy system was reliant of coal at that time, it is no longer reliant on coal, so is a totally moot point

Labour need to ram home the point that through removing privatisation periodically and ensuring people are paying their taxes and through building social housing, the revenue from which goes to local council budgets, there is plenty of money to properly fund all our services, without having to borrow massive amounts

The annoying aspect is you have all these dickheads banging on about immigration, when almost all of our problems have been caused by the broken US model Tories adopted in the early 80's and foreign investors escalating house prices and robbing our public purse of billions through privatisation. German and French national rail use profits from running UK franchises to subsidise their own nations rails travel for example. There has been a lot of housing in the UK purchased by foreign investors as long term investments that stand empty, which is why there is a housing shortage which in turn pushes prices through the roof

I can't disagree with your post, 19X, but I have to point out that the Labour Party needs an acceptable leadership to give it any chance of being voted in.
The previous leadership including Corbyn and Diane Abbott would have turned off many voters who might otherwise have voted for them.
Hopefully the incoming leadership will be an improvement.

As it is the swing voters; vote tory because the labour party just arent credible or professional .

Thus also the success of the far right rhetoric. Immigration is a great excuse for incompetent governments.

Immigrants cannot vote. So if the blame goes on them ... politically who cares .
