Thread: Resuming the season

Whether true or not ; just shows how people are.

Nobody wants to pay for services that they dont benefit from.

Look at crowdfunding; how people see the deficiencies in the health system and desperate to raise funds.

Nobody wants to pay for the NHS until they need it.

Or when a train/bus that services 1 person who needs it to go to work.

Why should thousands pay for him to have that service ?

In the recent past Scandinavia folk paid high taxes, and were happy to pay into it because they saw the benefits in the social services they got.

    Education
    Health
    Security
    Environment

Should be key to a countries future well being.

Why is it that so many countries get it wrong?

We'd all like some of that.
There are only 2 teams in Liverpool. Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves. (Bill Shankly)

Most people are not as conceited or as wickedly devious as Tony Blair.

Scandinavia has been close to or at the top of the global standard of living table for decades. And it is mainly down to a deep sense of social values. We pay high taxes to benefit the society for all.

As for the NHS - when you say nobody wants to pay for it - who do you mean exactly?

Three letters go a long way to answer that last question: IMF.

I think of LFC as being a whole, our owners, employees, players, manager and supporters. As a whole I like to think we are different, that's down to the supporters, manager and playing staff.
Owners, capitalists, are all the same the world over, and it's them that are no different.

The real cunty thing about that statement is the moral high ground we're trying to take by saying 'We're not doing it DESPITE being allowed to do it'.

We lost the privilege to say that the moment we tried to do it in the first place.

Owners are beholden to shareholders, their investment and return. The club was legally obliged to apply for the scheme. Only after protest in theory would they be able to reverse their obligated earlier decision.

The club generates alot of revenue and taxes of all sorts. Building the new stand and training complex, concerts at Anfield generating economic activity, football media and broadcasting. Vat, income, employer contributions, rates, corporate tax on profits

Seems it's only fair when they pay a lot of taxes.

Availing of schemes they and their employees legally qualify for from generated taxes it's unfair.
