Your team v Atalanta (Europa League Quarter-Final, First Leg)

A body-blow of a draw has left Reds deflated over the weekend, due in part to the inability to win coming against our historic rivals whilst also seeing us in a position where the winning of the League isn't entirely in our hands. Even 7 straight wins guarantees nothing if Arsenal are perfect, whereas it was in our control before the Old Trafford excursion.

Difficult away day out of the road, it's back to Anfield. With (subject to correction) just 3 Home games left to play in the League and Liverpool no longer in the FA Cup, opportunities to shower Jürgen with thanks for his efforts grow slim. Hopefully we can progress to the semi-finals for an extra opportunity and ultimately the Final to potentially line-up against an undefeated side.

Thursday could prove a welcome distraction and chance to rekindle some confidence for some, or could be the last thing we want to see for others - but it needs to be played.

    ..........................Kelleher

    Bradley......Quansah....Van Dijk... Tsimikas

    .........................Mac Allister

    ....................Elliott........Jones

    .........Salah.........Gakpo........Núñez

I'd be rotating a few and using the subs bench as I still retain hope for the League campaign, whilst others may feel this is now our best chance of silverware.

    Curious to see the line-ups.

    Kelleher

    Gomez Quansah Van Dijk Tsimikas

    Szoboszlai Mac Allister Jones

    Gakpo Nunez Diaz

Front 3 rotating through all 3 positions like the last 29-25 v Sheff UTD

Try & give 30 minutes rest to Mac Virgil Jones Nunez & Diaz with the subs if at all possible

They progressed at the expense of Sporting Lisbon so are no mugs, but also are capable of heavy defeats - they lost 4-0 against Inter in February.

Hopefully do the job at Anfield as you say.

Really hope this is another step on the road to lifting it in Dublin - the one trophy we haven't lifted under Klopp.

The League is undoubtedly the main goal, but by God, Jürgen deserves to complete the set.

Fun facts for the evening -

If we progress to the semi-finals, Jürgen will set a new club record of five European semi-final participations as Liverpool manager, exceeding the four of both Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley.

Tonight is our 28th European quarter-final in total. If we reach a 21st semi-final, it would extend a British record. Manchester United are next best with 18 semi-final appearances in all European comps.

If we win tonight, it represents our 250th European win in all competitions.
