With the addition of Diaz the case for 4231 gets stronger.

    Alisson
    Trent Matip VVD Robbo
    Hendo Fabinho
    Salah Firmino Mane
    Jota

    Kelleher
    Gomez Nat Konate Tsimi
    Milner Thiago
    Ox Keita Diaz
    Origi

    Depth:
Adrian, Neco, Morton*, Jones, Elliot, Gordon*, Taki*

*** Taki could be sold or loaned out before the window slams shut. All fit Morton & Gordon probably won't get many minutes.

For me the 4231 is the better shape for us.

It allows for better management of the Team&Squad.

In terms of first team depth the weak area is cover for Fab & Hendo.
4231 allows us to better rotate Fab/Hendo/Thiago in a double pivot.

I know exactly what you mean, that's why last season's CB debacle, followed by this season's CM debacle are things I find wholly and entirely unacceptable

No-one is asking or expecting FSG to spend like City, they are merely expecting them to make sure we have a squad with enough quality to sustain a challenge at the levels of point accumulation required over a full season and not drop 10 points from winning positions, 3 or 4 of those from having 2 goals leads too, through letting a player like Gini go and being too fucking tight to replace him, and then compounding that by not replacing him this window either

We could and should be in pole position in the race and we've seen City bottle it and drop unexpected points a plenty when chasing before, that's unacceptable to me, not good enough, piss fucking poor from FSG

We missed out on one title because Anthony fucking Taylor failed to send Kompany off for a blatant straight red in the crucial head to head, so we were robbed of one quite blatantly to be fair

If you all think that amassing 90pts+ every season to challenge is achievable every season then fair play to you...

    Edited^^

Taki remains leaving the attack stacked.

Nat & Neco left on loan, one too many for my liking.

Bradley possibly gets a chance at right back in the fa cup game/s

    Rearranged Leeds fixture..

We host Leeds on Wednesday, February 23 at Anfield for a 7.45pm KO.

Sandwiched between Norwich and the Cup final with 4 days between each game.

Not ideal, but I think where ever it was placed it would have been undesirable.

That's....Leicester on the 10th....Burnley(?) on the 13th.....Inter on the 16th.....Norwich on the 19th......Leeds on the 23rd and Chelsea in the Final on the 27th.

We'll be busy! Tell you what though - if we were to get off to a good start (revenge against Leicester) and don't Banan-skin the Burnley game, I think quiet confidence could grow for a bit of a momentum-build there. If we're going to have a run of fixtures squished together, I think we can do worse than having a Champion's League game wedged in there, as everyone will want to be in good shape going into that, same again for the Final - everyone will be playing to be in contention for those matches and whilst it may be congested/demanding, I can see us being bang up for it.

A good time to be relatively injury-free. Provided nothing major happens in the Cup match or in training and we get Elliott and Thiago back (imminent) we'd be in a spot where we only had Origi out.

    Could be much worse!

Indeed. We can compete, but it isn't going to be 90+ season-in, season-out against Lance Armstrong when we aren't taking PEDs.

Still. First of February's hurdles done - into the last-16 of the FA Cup, on to Leicester.
