The pass was absolutely spot on for both, played and flighted a yard in front of where each player was at the time it was played, both players were in a position in which they weren't marked, didn't have to go early and gamble, top players can pick the flight of the ball and where it's going as soon as it's left a players foot, why gamble?

Salah didn't have to break stride from Thiagos pass, just Mos touch letting him down in taking it down.

Vilareal will be happy enough with how it's going so far.

We've been decent but not causing massive problems for them yet

Because it was DRIVEN, with top spin, it's the wrong execution of that pass, every single one Mo takes down with ease and our other players for that matter is because they are played with backspin, the putting wedge pass, it is incredibly easy to take down a ball with backspin on it, far FAR easier than a drive ball with top spin

If you overhit a ball played with backspin over a high line or even a deep line, it holds up on the turf, if you play it with top spin it speeds up off the turf and quickly runs away from the player

You've obviously never played snooker or read and book on snooker and billiards and how to put spin on the ball and what it does

Yeah, it's all been "fine" - good even - but not quite great.

Passing lacking a bit of zip, tempo not quite there yet.

Can foresee us going in 0-0 at half-time and having to find another gear after the break.
