    Lets hope we do !

Ahem - oh no Jurgen, you weren’t trying to make a point at Old Toilet then ?

The benching of Fab to start a midfield of Hendo - Milner - Elliott must surely have been a message to Boston? No way our Jurgen picked them to win. Sorry but no. I mean every man and his dog saw that and felt the shiver.

Great to see him taking the blame though. Maybe that’s why he has looked so glum of late. He knew he was going to bollock himself.

He likes a challenge does Jurgen. Why on earth did he sign a new contract when he could've got it easier elsewhere.
He's a bloody madman and it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's what he's up too.

    From the Guardian

This is a club that has spent the last three or four years operating at the very outer limit of its capabilities: athletically, financially, emotionally. And it has done so with the same man and the same voice, virtually the same players operating at the same intensity, the same challenge and the same challengers, a far richer opponent with a far greater margin for error. This was always going to be a product with a limited shelf life. The only real question is how much.

There is a temptation to see the current travails at Anfield as part of the natural life cycle of a Klopp team: an extension of the Béla Guttmann curse that seems to afflict all Klopp sides after five or six years. In Klopp’s seventh season at Mainz they were relegated from the Bundesliga after a stirring period of ascent. In Klopp’s seventh season at Borussia Dortmund there was a dramatic collapse that left them in the relegation zone at Christmas and eventually precipitated his departure from the club where he won two consecutive titles.

Both times Klopp tried to struggle on, continued to insist – often in curt and cantankerous tones – that better times were just around the corner. And in a way, Klopp’s demeanour is the big tell here, a man whose drawn features and basic air of world-weariness feel jarringly at odds with the sunny, bouncy coach who walked in through the door seven years and a lifetime ago. Here he is, rounding on critics of Darwin Núñez. Here he is, grumbling about United’s time-wasting. Here he is, driving home and getting unnaturally angry at Gabriel Agbonlahor on TalkSport. For Klopp to be in this frame of mind after seven years in the job is perhaps understandable. For it to happen in August feels faintly alarming.

Too many limiting factors there. This is an investment - they will have multiplied their investment by a factor of at least 10 and probably 15 by the time they sell. That's what it is all about when push comes to shove. While Klopp is around we have come so close to being dominant - and with just a little more backing we would have done.. but that isn't of interest to those who know the sweet spot financially - is just where we are..

I think we are almost all unified in not wanting to be a City or a Chelsea - certainly most of us. We don't want to just go out and buy every quality player we can. We are not looking to be the extension of a state or owned by the richest man on the planet.

It's great to see Klopp develop players, build that togetherness like only the very best managers can. Great to see them blossom and become stars... BUT when the manager does that to good effect with so many BUT has flogged a few other dead horses.. maybe more than 20 dozen times in some cases..... and you..me..and Dupree know that these horses are never going to run... not without others picking up their slack...HOW can a club of this stature be so happy with inaction? Talking about next summers projected signings is bat shit crazy - and a clear admission that we are being tight - when we have to live here and now. It's strange at best - especially so while our owner is personally making more than £1 billion (disgusting imo) in a single year --- to boot.

Hopefully Klopp can work more of his magic (punching above) on the squad and as players come back to fitness we should start to see a return to dominance over the lesser sides at least (United included )..but we really are asking an awful lot. Klopp will have to pick them up mentally - AGAIN.. remember they are competing with bigger squads, some with a better raft of individual players... It's so demanding. So many of these players have played so many games and plenty are starting to look their age. We have a huge gap. Lot's of very experienced players and lot's of vey inexperienced players - yet almost zero in between..

It would be an absolute travesty if Klopp's legacy at this great club amounted to just 2 major titles. Happy though we all must be with those big wins - it would surely be a huge disappointment after having the best manager on the planet at the helm for so long.

Looking forward we will surely improve - but be warned - if we achieve 90 plus points again..expect another summer of inaction - Milner can get out the walking stick etc
the problem he has is the depth of the squad.... We get told to give praise for the money spent on Nunes, whilst other clubs are paying similar amounts on bench warmers.
