Just realised I have almost parroted what Sid said there. But I think he really needs that shot in the arm. He is young and his move to a tougher league has been thrust into the spotlight on the back of the big fee. That must be making a very high pressure situation far worse.

"confidence" is such a over-rated thing at top level anyway, you have to be very very fucking confident to get that level and progress up the ranks, that's not as much of a issue as people make out.. at the very top level of the game.. Confidence mainly is when someone is getting over a bad injury, the mental effect.
People can go off form and such, but yeah.

He scored in Charity shield and scored v Fulham. Then got sent off. Has come back into a team that is playing shit. Salah isn't scoring, and Diaz isn't scoring.
It's easy to be negative. I'm fucking great at it.
You hear player after player talking about getting into a rhythm, and it builds your confidence. This stop-start shit doesn't help players. Going 3 or 4 games without scoring, the fans getting on your back, media focusing on every chance etc - do you think that has no mental impact?

So when we beat Bournemouth 9-0 we've been back to our best? especially against napoli.
He's not been great because the players around him have been shite, he can only do so much not like the midfield is creaitng much and trent/robertson have been awful
and tbh I doubt anyone would notice about a pointless friendly

I'm not sure where you're going with this. The team in general has been shit. Bournemouth got a battering. I don't think Nunez has been shit for us, he's played 268 minutes (excluding charity shield) - not even 3 full games.
It doesn't matter what anyone else notices, although if you look at the media they are reporting his goal, it may have a marginal (or more) impact to him.
