Very well worked goal by RB Salzburg but it was a bit too easy to work the opportunity. Gomez and Konate are not a good pairing

We have created some very good positions but finishing from Elliott, Mabaya, Keita and Nunez has been poor.

A second string Liverpool had a decent opening half hour, creating some very good situations but in the end, weak play in either penalty area has seen them go in 1-0 down.
After a decent opening to the game Carvalho faded after a couple of hefty challenges from the Salzburg full back, who went into the book as a result.
Nunez is getting chances which is positive but could have done better with a couple.

Gomez is a conundrum, excellent in recent games at RB, he has been shocking in his CB performances, presenting the opposition with two chances in the opening half hour today alone.

We have to remember however that Salzburg have already started their season and this was very much a second string Liverpool side.

The young 19 year old 6ft 4 lad up front for Salzburg Sesko, looks a very interesting prospect and took his goal well.
