Jürgen is /was a good manager.
He has had the backing he wants.
He can't find the players he wants anymore.
He needs to change his vision!
    Gegenpress is dying.
It was working but now not.
People work out how to play against it whilst we continue to burn ourselves out against them.

Not sure that's true, we've done significantly less running than 7 of our last 8 opponents.

That could be because we have relied on the same players to do too many hard miles?

Klopp himself looks exhausted. There’s a limit to how long you can play at 110%

Indeed Steveo! Do you think Jürgen can reinvent? Less miles and more sublime?

Our defence can do much better. so can our forward play.Just need to get midfield fixed. we still have some fantastic players.
I don't think there's much wrong if we get back to basics.

Should have taken place a few years ago imo. Don’t see the money being released to facilitate it without selling a key player (Coutinho mark2). Even then would Klopp play to the strengths of a proper high class technical midfield? He seems to bypass midfield entirely at times, using it mainly as a screen for the defence. Up top we have lost one half of what really made us tick, so we now have another issue to contend with.

Seems there has been a lack of will from within the club (be it Jurgen or the owners) to push for the next level. Slowly changing to a higher quality and more controlled possession game. Accepting that the high intensity game was hugely taxing and likely to lead to a boom and bust scenario.

One could argue that we were guilty believing the hype a little.. Thinking that where we were in 2019 was the pinnacle of football, when it wasn’t at all. Exciting to watch yes.. top top quality..? No. They forgot to engage a little devils advocate, to see IF things might be a little skewed by Klopp's brilliance in getting more from a squad than is reasonable to expect: Ignoring the fact we needed a near miracle (quirk of the rules) to exit our CL group . Same points and goal difference as Napoli - winning 1 more game but losing 2 more. That 50% of our games lost! Surely that scenario warrants a playoff. Like should have been in 1989 - with us losing out cruelly when we were every bit the equal of Arsenal.

Another miracle was needed to get past Barca and then what many describe as the softest of soft penalties in the final v the mighty Spurs to set up a win we didn’t really earn on the night.**It was great - exhilarating to watch at times BUT it was new, overwhelming the opposition with its constant and relentless attack and unrelenting work rate. Harder to reproduce the following season, and relying more and more on mentality,**grit and sheer will, despite winning the title, we already looked likely to fade imho.

We missed that summer in 2019 - and many could easily argue that we have gone backwards from there - not forwards. So to answer the question - after such a long winded ramble... in short... No.

    Hahaaa

To be fair to 19 and others - the high intensity - million mile an hour game might just be the only language Klopp knows. There is an undeniable trend.

I’m all for going the other way and Controlling games in a less high octane, less taxing way - but - there is no point buying those players IF Jurgen isn’t going to utilise them.

True I think its harder for us to play how we did in 2019 where we could turn teams over.

Most teams sit in against us so by default we do have more of the ball.

I have no stats to back this up just going by memory we have more control of the ball now but our energy has dropped a touch.
