Back to the dark old days of Rick Parry, never backing the manager for his top target, always speculating on 3 lower valued 'maybe' players hoping one would come good - THAT is not a transfer policy, it's spread betting

Agree and it will be further evidence of the club not being up for a sustained challenge going forward. Its obvious Bellingham is a target and one we really want, a statement required is buying him plus others.

He's young and has a lot of potential. He fits our mould. If we had more players in midfield eg. a regularly available ox and keita - then I think the club would go all-in for him. Given that we only really have Fab, Thiago and Hendo as experienced midfielders (and Milner) with Elliot, Carvalho and Jones as potentials - I really think we may try and get depth with two quality signings.
