I honestly couldn’t give flying fook about any other clubs fans or indeed the clubs themselves other than ours , mainly cos in recent years they’ve all shown themselves to be bandwagon jumping cunts. I hope we do precisely what suits us best or at least use our position to force someone’s hand on this money shit. Be interesting to see if fsg will change tactics now it’s obvious to all and sundry we need significant investment in the squad/midfield.

You could argue ESL has already started Steveo 5 qualify for CL and extra games.

I think ESL could work with a fair format in other words if Wolves finish 3rd they get to play CL footy.

The tv revenues seem unfair we help create a shit ton of money for these companies but have to share it to my knowledge this dont happen in foreign leagues.

I really dont know the answer if something doesn't change we just wont compete for the league it will be pretty impossible.

It is hard against one country it is going to be even harder against another and factor in we will have a normal manager soon.

FSG got Kenny back cos of the fans my biggest fear is are they stupid/crazy enough to think Gerrard would be the answer ?

    ESL is happening for sure.

Like the privatisation of the NHS. It will be done by stealth. You wake up and it’s happened.

In 5 - 10 years it will exist, and the game as we all know it, won’t.

Yeah I think you are right it will change and not for the better.

Try not to think too far ahead as nobody knows if they will be around "Nobody promises you tomorrow".

It was envisioned by the US owners of the big English teams and it was halted the instant they were forced to pull out, by fan reaction. Don’t forget that. The people who go to games! Fairly important folk unless all you want is OUR fair share of the revenue… WTF?

Barca and Real and Juve and anyone else will naturally HAVE to be included as anyone who isn’t - gets left behind. It also appeals to anyone who wants to generate untold cash. And on a revolving door. It locks out the rest.

What you fail to see is that it will absolutely 100% happen in all but name. This genie does not go back inside the bottle. Using UEFA as a reason is bogus - they were just the excuse. Regardless it is the antithesis of everything that our football league was and has been for generations.
The closed shop was there to establish the competition, it was the most negotiable aspect of the proposal. It was necessary to leverage their appeal against authorities.

You can't enforce regulations with uefa and cas. Take the competition away from them and you can have clubs, traditional ones enforce the rules over the new oil clubs. Look at the new CL format it's a joke.
CAS rules over sports, then you have fifa and uefa. FFP has failed because of them. Uefa only acted once they couldn't deny the evidence, Platinis nephew and others getting jobs with the new oil clubs other enterprises/media. Then after awarding the ban to city, its over to the CAS who love giving dopers second chances.

Fans shot themselves in the foot, in part led by the media and manu fans, alot of fans rimming Gary Neville as I recall

The CAS are just like Wada and ioc. Clearly bent as are UEFA and as controlled as the UN is, don’t think anyone would argue that point.

I do not like the ESL sorry. Don’t agree with it and never will BUT it will happen.

Fans didn’t shoot themselves in the foot, fans didn’t want it. They don’t want it because it isn’t our sport or our competition. Never was.

You will get your wish however it will be here in due course. Only then will you see the problem.

Neville wasn’t entirely hypocritical. Yes Sky diluted what we had and it ruined much - it also improved others aspects - as will the ESL.

But surely one dubious greed motivated move shouldn’t mean we take another one - which is potentially so much more damaging?

Our owners were happy to compete with PL money divided as it is (to our loss) with FFP governing the sport (City/PsG/Cfc/Toons loss).
That is what footballs governors had declared, but we see only the one to our cost enforced.

The ESL was a better format for the sporting competition than the new CL format under uefa. Theirs is a fucking mess of a format.

Also by taking the clubs out of uefas and subsequently the CAS control, clubs would be able to enforce their rules. Leaving it within these structures, we are getting shafted by the PL and Uefa/Cas.

European football has evolved continuously. Its grown due to demand, and the esl would have been better for everyone. The only major reaction to European footballs evolution was taking it out of uefa and then CASs control.

13-14 of the world's richest clubs are PL clubs. We see the top6, having to budget carefully as missing out on top4 is crisis territory for most clubs. The ESL improves that and a mirrored EL would see most of the richest clubs in the PL/World football also have to deal with extra games in Europe.
Expanded European club competition is a good way for non-PL teams to keep themselves competitive.

Your obsession with greed, owners versus uefa, misses the point that as it stands the rules are not enforced. Even where bans are handed out like city's last year. The cas overturns it.
There's greed as you see it, in people making money, but there is supposed to be a set of rules abided by.
