I think the buying a stake is how its being dressed up but a sale is definitely possible if the price is right.

But as with this kind of strategy there will be time when the low cost/young players dont work or the manager appointments dont work.
It works up until a point, the speed at which fees and wages have accelerated over the last couple of years have made the model unsustainable.

Unless we are willing to sell one of our key players every season then we just want generate enough funds to sign the players we need. Getting someone at 50 to 60m @ 80pw is now 80-100m at 100kpw

FSG clearly showing their hand. They are not going to try and compete. Covid interrupted their model as they couldn't cash in on Salah Mane and maybe Firmino. They would have probs reinvested some and ended up with their usual low net spend.

They have overseen a good time, but as someone mentioned it has alot to do with Klopp Coutinho money and Bournemouth and Fulham paying high prices for youngsters. Lots of luck went their way and since they took over a sleeping giant the commercial value also began to grow as success came. However they were never in it to be successful every season.like in NFL or American sports a team can go 100 years without winning the main prize and yet be a massive cash cow. That is how the American owners want, moneymoneymoney. Success is not as important as long as the dollars roll in. Indoetunately for them it doesn't work like that in English football.

Only thing we don't know who we going to get.

Then the only solution is to be owned by a country and/or someone willing to throw money at the club with little regard as to how it's run?

If that's the way we're going then what's the point? We'd be no better than City/Chelsea/PSG/Newcastle etc...

why are you and others so stupid?

There's being like City..... then there's having to loan a midfielder in because we can't eat into FSG profits from milking us......

the money spent is criminal after our best times of late.

I'd be happy if we actually spent a bit of money and we could get what we needed.... instead of a cheap option, or nothing at all......

Not asking for 100's of millions...... asking us to spend than other clubs in the league which are a lot lower than us.

we could have been sitting on a few more titles, and another champions league win if you know the owners spent a little bit of money, even that one extra player who's good in midfield

it's pathetic, they need to go.

at least the newcastle owners actually seem to give a damn about the club and area, and I don't mean just because of the money, these yanks couldn't care less
