That group called MUST (not sure is that Man Utd Supporters Trust?) have come out and said they don't want Qatari owners because of human rights issues. Don't know how much influence they have. If it was Spirit of Shankly saying that, it would definitely carry weight, even though we all know money talks etc.

Does our drop in form make a takeover bid more or less likely?

FSG timed it right to get a bargain....would potential investors be thinking they could get a few billion knocked off the price because of our league position?

The best time to put us up for sale (financial and profit-wise)would have been just before the end of the season and the Champions League final last season when it still seemed like we could win a quadruple.

The worst time to put us up for sale (football-wise) would have been just before the end of the season and the Champions League final last season when it have looked like it could cripple our (at the time still promising) season with the unnecessary distraction.

I'm guessing that second one is why they waited until they did to confirm that they were looking for takers.

Unfortunately the damage of a terribly managed and executed summer transfer window and the subsequent damage it wrought in our season so far probably hasn't helped in our valuation.

I'm guessing the Mancs also being put up for sale (along with rumours of the Spurs being up for sale too) couldn't have helped finding takers.

So all that's probably the reason why Henry decided to hold his powder and not sell for the moment.

To be fair it's the first increase in 8 years so it's done well to a point and it's only 19 pounds a year I think? Juniors staying the same. 19 quid is far less than how this Govt and big oil are plundering everyone's bank account.
There's the argument towards the money that's being made, profits etc but in the grand scheme its not bad at all imo.

Corporate increases are out of all proportion. But I guess you can say this is a small step in the right direction. Better than nothing I guess. 'Not as shyte as it could have been'. They could replace 'This means more' with that.

We can't expect big John to pay for first class flights from his own pocket.
