Ratcliffe is a Utd fan I think. He was interested in Chelsea and Utd. Obviously just wants the kudos of a club.

I don’t believe that’s true CD. Who has ever said that they were ever close to terrible? And while we are on the subject of performing on the pitch - H&G came within a whisker of winning a title and a CL too.. that’s on the manager in the main. This is a huge club and with the right manager we should always be competitive.
The truth on the state of the art facilities though… well - like the stadium, which this summer will finally manage to be roughly half of what was originally planned. A new stadium or a redeveloped one is not a the same as 2 new stands. That’s like a couple of extensions on a dilapidated house. After 12 years Anfield is Still a mess. Both architecturally and logistically, Back to the state of the art facilities.
Kirkby is the newest around YET is outshone hugely by 5 other older and better setups, Kirkby rated at a low-key 6th in 2022. It’s typical FSG. Despite the huge undisclosed sum received for Melwood and again - like the stands - paid for by the club - and comes out of a desperately needed transfer kitty

This has been the trend - despite - getting the club “for a steal”..
We can do far better. Best manager in the world - 7 years … 2 major trophies. It’s ok - not great. If the club wasn’t having to pay back for these underwhelming infrastructures - that go onto the sale price - it could have won more than double what it has. That’s where passionate owners would be a bonus.
Obviously there is also a flip side. We could have multi billionaire money splurging morons who screw things too.
No hard and fast rule on these things. You can throw billions at it and get the wrong manager and it goes tits up.
FSG have never been terrible, they just haven’t been that good either. I always described them as middling owners.
That’s what we got if they pack up and go now. 12 years 2 major titles, half a stadium and the 6th best training ground! Oh and likely a £3.6 billion profit heading back to Boston. Excellent investors who stand to make an absolute killing.

He would be a total disaster. Boycott the club - if he even dares attempt a purchase.
Yes, I'm a oversea fan for more than 20 years (thanks to Fowler and Owen) and my wishes probably wasn't the same from others fans (perhaps the Liverpool fans from UK). When I say owners like the Newcastle was on terms of unlimited founds that can splash cash and not a owner like American owner type.
How many times Klopp and others before have said "we can't compete financially with others"?? Now it's time to compete with them, with owners that want splash money on the team and on the stadium. Liverpool are upgrading stand by stand When they should upgrade at the same time Anfield Road end and Main stand. Like someone here said "we are Liverpool FC, not Bournmouth".
We need vision to take the club forward and cash too
Totally agree on RATcliffe
And don’t worry about the morality monsters in here Kop.
They didn’t vote for Brexit They would no more support the World Cup in Qatar than they would a trip to the US Open.
After all - they are so vocal on Guantanamo, torture and rendition, and the deaths of almost 2,000,000 civilians since 2003. They would be the first to leap to the defence of Snowden and Assange.
These are the human rights warriors. We are Liverpool, this means more
Whatever happens its likely to be a similar owner to City or Newcastle I think.
Theres far too much milk in the cow. LFC is infinitely bigger than those 2 nomark clubs and PSG,Chelsea and that's why there's plenty of billionaires with their eyes on the prize.
We would be the first proper club ie history and worldwide fanbase, to be owned by the petrodollar if it happens.
Like it or loathe it, it could make Liverpool football club the biggest and richest in the world.
Its a shame we have to go down this route, just to compete financially. How many other massive clubs in the world have to do this? The Italian league doesn't have this problem since all the teams aren't mega rich. Germany is the same.
It seems, the FA have allowed teams to basically destroy the game by allowing rich owners to increase the price in everything
is it time the FA brought in a cap where so much money is only allowed to be spent a season?
That would lower the asking prices of players abroad or in the same league.
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Indeed, but as Justme says - it's pathetic that it effectively has come to this. To be able to compete with state owned frauds you need to join them..
And still SILENCE from our government.. Not a mention of this anywhere by anyone. What are they so scared of?
Is there not some kind of fan ownership model that we can look at ? Does it HAVE to be another billionaire or worse?
