This would be a great time to get into form and close the gap to all those above us. Maybe score the opening goal for a change, and see how the dynamic changes..
if it takes a change of formation to baffle the opposition i hope Jurgen isn't too proud or stubborn to do that (doubt it though).

Good game at the Cottage, finely balanced. Fulham took a first half lead, Chelsea hit back at the start of the second half to equalise but on 60 minutes, Chelsea’s shiny new boy they’re renting… sorry loaning Jao Felix, left a high boot in and received a straight red.

    Fulham 1-1 Chelsea
    60 gone

Think he’ll miss the game at Anfield, still 3 games for a straight red innit?

No better time in the season really, for three reasons

Firstly, there are pportunities to gain ground due to who is playing who at the moment. If we could actually win some back-to-back games then we could be close to or even narrowly inside the Champion's League spots by mid-February.

Secondly, the opportunity to find rhythm prior to the Real Madrid tie. The thing about the draw this year is that if we did SOMEHOW scrape through it (admittedly not confident against Madrid sides under Klopp sadly, especially now we're not at our best, but who knows) then there are a whole bunch of potentially very manageable possible ties for the next round if we avoid a couple of the usual suspects like PSG and Bayern.

Thirdly, we'll expect to be getting a drip-feed of players back into match fitness (such as Jones) or availability (Milner, Firmino, Jota, Diaz) by the time certain players have gotten a little more used to each other - such as any Gakpo/Núñez dynamic or Robertson/Gakpo dynamic - meaning that ON PAPER the March-May spell of the season shouldn't be quite as deflating to experience as recent weeks.

Even if performances weren't amazing, now would be the absolute perfect time for the team to start to grind out results. Which makes it all the more frustrating that we probably don't fully trust the lads to get a win against Brighton.

Totally agree sid, but its the never ending cycle of pulled muscles in training or in matches that plague us. Impact of bad tackles and awkward falls are one thing, the injuries that come out of nowhere and the snails pace of that rehabilitation that seem to be worse than at other big clubs is quite another.
I think the only mid 20's midfielder we have is Keita?, the rest are inexperience teenagers or late 20's/early 30's showing signs of burnout.
