In truth even our full strength midfield isn’t capable of mixing it with Real

The problem with Real is they look after the ball and kind of defend like City very close to one another, cause they can pass in tight spaces so they don't open up except through their outlet Vini.

So u don't get to bypass them much or press either. A midfield 2 on our side is more recipe for them to bypass which they can with a full strength anyway as u said.
