Wasn't really a surprise, he was absolute class for us, but played a very specialised and specific role that was quite specific to how we play(ed), when we didn't let in loads of soft goals and chances down our left side and through our left of centre, I never got why PSG wanted him, they didn't seem to have a role in their side suited to his talents, Mourinho on the other hand, he loves a mid of Gini's type

Sick note was in full training this week and 'may' take part in the game v Arsenal, Thiago I mean, not Keita or Oxlade

Alright then so Thiago's back in full training

    Alisson

    Trent Konate Van Dijk Robertson

    Henderson Fabinho Thiago

    Salah Wagbo Nunez

Thiago playing as LCM controller, sitting alongside Fab, covering Robbo's forward runs and looking to play the right medium to long passes, balls through the lines and switches of the required quality to release Nunez, Mo, Wagbo with his once famous ball through the lines and find Trent and Hendo on our right and involving all our other players who are good in helping make the play, like Trent in space at RB, Virgil at LCB when they're pressing and Mo is one v one at RFWD and Hendo anywhere around the halfway line in space when he can look to switch to Nunez/Diaz or Robbo or to release Mo

I would really like to see Thiago use his passing ability to the strengths or our players more as he did in his first season in 20-21, be more direct, not overplay and involve our other players in making the play more

Don't know if it's been posted already but I just saw a stat saying we are in exactly the same position in table and same points as we were two years ago
    Top four nailed on.

    Keita also training I believe.
Gawd help us if he starts.
(probably get injured in the warm-up if we're lucky)

Diaz coming back will be a massive boost, if it's true that due to a fuck up by our medical team he didn't get the op he should have had untill after the wc as someone posted here, someone needs sacking

What's our WORST possible midfield line-up today?
    Elliott, Fabinho, Thiago?
Keita may be involved at some point.

The lineup from the old Trafford game

    Henderson - Milner - Elliot

Even at full strength lineup everywhere else. And we were shocking.

A trio of Engerlanders is the worst grouping we have. But if you are going to deploy it - Anfield might be the place to try again.
