I remember lamenting the lack of creativity in a midfield of Hendo Milner and Gini after a champions league game a few years back (might have been the loss away at Red star Belgrade the season we won it). What I would give for a midfield with that functionality now

Belgrade was Lallana - Gini - Milner

Napoli was Milner - Fab - Hendo

2x Engerlanders is enough to put you in peril. 3 and you are right in the thick of it.

regardless - we still had a defence that was far stronger and with far less miles on the clock - PLUS a prime, hungry - devastating front line.

Back then it was on the rare occasion we were away in hostile environments and against the better European sides. Now it’s v Brighton, Wolves or Brentford.

Even at full strength lineup everywhere else. And we were shocking.

A trio of Engerlanders is the worst grouping we have. But if you are going to deploy it - Anfield might be the place to try again.
    It was

Keita Henderson Milner when we thrashed them at Old Toilet last year AND without Mane

The only thing that's changed significantly is the tinkering, formation and style of play and for long enough and frequently enough to break the way that worked

We need to be greater than the sum of our parts again today as we were for 5 seasons prior to the needless changes and failed attempted evolution of this one, when we have been a very fucking long way short of the sum of our parts

Can't believe Jota starts ahead of Nunez, he couldn't hit a barn door.

I've just given up on worrying about it and just hope for the best now, maybe Jota will score or assist, maybe Nunez will come on for him and score

Think Jota gets in the team ahead of Nunez.. So you have to make a space for him and thats on the left.. once Diaz comes back maybe Nunez will go central again.. Its just favouritism; Jurgen prefers Jota to Nunez
