I was about to ask tees this same question..

Why the hate? What makes Real a horrid club? Is it their success? Is it that they treat us like we treat Southampton?

I mean what is so much better about Liverpool FC by comparison?

Some of the historic hatred for them in Spain stems from the alleged links to Francisco Franco's regime.

Think a lot of fans (more recently) also hate the apparent level of entitlement to transfer targets and the way in which they seem to be able to "hoard" players in a fashion that all but the State-owned clubs can't.

Also think a lot of fans have hated the years of time-wasting, rolling etc along with alleged bias with refereeing and UEFA.

100%. There's plenty of fans who think that about Liverpool. Fans of teams who've never won a single thing must look at LFC fans and either hate or pity us.
