    2-2. Gakpo.
He has been really good as usual.

Brilliantly crafted winner for the reds.

Gakpo combined with Jota who very coolly went round the defender and slotted into the corner.

    Karlsruher 2-3 Liverpool

Two in a minute for Jota this time combining down the right with MacAllister (getting his first Liverpool assist) and beating the keeper with ease.

    Karlsruher 2-4 Liverpool

    Núñez
    Gakpo
    Jota (2)

Núñez right now is behind both Jota and Gakpo in getting a CF start for the reds.

He just doesn’t appear to have the game intelligence

Szoboszlai looks the bollocks lads, anyone who didn’t see him, he’s a proper player. Strong, quick, clever .. probably has a massive knob too, he’s got everything else

I know you can't read too much into preseason games. It's just about getting match fitness into the body.
But i find the defensive and midfield positions a bit confusing. So second half Tsimikas was playing left side inverted fullback. But if he doesn't have the playmaking qualities of Trent..then why?
Anyway. Gakpo almost first name on the teamsheet from now on. He has that kind of game which doesn't look spectacular, a bit like Bobby Firmino, but the overall contribution in both attack and in midfield is really great. And he comes up with goals and assists.
Ben Doak can't be far away from the first team squad this season.

Yes it's pre season and we can't take too much from these games...and Coady looked more akin to David Ngog than Bobby Firmino during a very tough start to his Liverpool career, but he has become far more confident and assured over time. Klopp has put faith in him... and our German knows what he is doing...

NO danger we will be listing him any time soon...

Really loving Jota right now, seems to have fully recovered from his long lay off, looking razor sharp. Very important player for us next season.
