Who else but Real could have achieved the continued success while managing such a book balancing feat.?

This is the question. The short answer is - Nobody.

In the future the petrodollar clubs will be positioned to simply refuse to sell unless it is for inflated fees too, City will likely end up with very nice looking books in 5 years too,

Try making that work with one single Coutinho to sell on top of a mid table (at best) budget. You can’t - You need the best manager on the planet in situ, spinning plates…and even then - it’s a few years that you get. That’s it.

This was always a buy to let then sell deal.

    FSG need to fuck off

There was mention earlier in the thread about a protest march if I remember correctly.
What would be the point? FSG are never here, they've watched us, like, one game per season if that.
All they are doing at the moment is handicapping us as a competitive club.
They've obviously no interest in us other than a cash cow, so why don't they do one?

You've answered your own question there. The club is nothing more than a business to them, and it's making them a nice profit. Why would they let it go?

Exactly, and that cash cow keeps getting bigger and bigger.

If they were going to sell then they would have done for £3.5b to that fella who is now in the running to buy scum.

On the flip side it doesn't seem like Lavia is going anywhere else, this world class DM seems set on LFC.

    From March 23.

According to the highly reputable football finance blog Swiss Ramble, Fenway Sports Group have invested just £136 million into Liverpool Football Club since their takeover in 2010.

Between 2017 and 2021, £37 million was in fact extracted from the club to help repay a loan sanctioned to build the new Main Stand.

That is less financial input than 17 other Premier League clubs in that five-year period.

It only gets bigger if the success sticks around and we have prize players like Mo,VvD and Alisson.
If the quality of those isn't replicated we sink like a stone and it's not looking likely that they are going to be replaced or players brought in who succeed them especially in the short term.

It won't take long for the asset to plummet if we go a season or three without winning anything. A scenario that is a very likely probability than us winning anything, especially a big trophy like the CL or PL. Those two trophies look well out of reach for some time
They're greedy cunts and will deserve to lose a shit ton of money on LFC and I hope they do. They've raped the club.
    They'll reap what they sow.
