Any touch is a fault with VAR. That contact of Macallister isn't a straight red on my opnion. On slow-motion any touch is a red card and any touck on penalty area is a penalty.

In my opinion it is not a red as well. I am discussing how I want VAR to work. There it did as per thr letter of the law. VAR shouldn't ref the ref unless it is a clear and obvious. Refereeing is still interpretation of law and refs style of refereeing. So in no way am I defending the ref I am defending VAR and the way it was handled. As I said it was quick and I don't see how they could advise him he made a mistake without refereeing him there. It was his interpretation of a law, high boots studs etc. His style is a strict type so he went red. Maybe he is young ref and will go back and think about it etc.

I think most red cards should have a quick mandatory monitor review. It’s a massive swing in the game plus a ban. Why not. They say they want accuracy then prove it
