The hope is always that there aren't 3 worse sides than Everton - but they always seem to survive the swirling abyss of the toilet bowl.

In a perfect world Everton would go down, sort themselves out for 3-4 years in the Championship (ditch Pulis-ball focus on Academy, youth, play nice football and finding something to talk about beyond "the Red shite") and could come up again anew in time - less bitter and actually focused on their own football rather than the avoidance of red balls on their Christmas tree, with some of the toxic poison dissipating their fanbase and new shoots cropping up with a better attitude.

All terribly unlikely of course. I think they'd return more bitter than ever - but they are in massive need of a reset, right down to the very culture of what it means to be a Blue.

They've had 2 Home games against sides that will probably finish in the lower half of the table and have found themselves finishing the weekend very narrowly behind us on points difference.

Ultimately means nothing of course - rarely read anything into the Table before the 10th game or so - but there's certainly something a little amusing about that.
