In all honesty - they could end up doing what we did in 2005. Anything is possible in this game.

Anything is possible in a one-off match but I would be pretty gobsmacked if they managed to outscore Real Madrid or Bayern Munich or Man City in a two-legged tie - especially with the away goal rules being binned off having changed the dynamic.

I could totally see them beating Bayern in the group stages and some pundit or other saying "good signs" or "Man United are back" or "Bilbo Swaggins" or "corner turned" only for Burnley to sneak a deflected goal win.

Also, jammy as Man United are, they don't have the refs working in their favour for every decision when it comes to Europe.

When did they last reach the semi-finals (never mind the Final) - must be the 12/13 or 11/12 season, something like that? We're talking about a decade (or more?) of not getting close.

The best players tend to be inhuman. Salahs injury record is similar and incredible. Ripped like an adonis too.

I think its much harder physically on the body in midfield. Salah doesn't have to tackle that much.

I see Bellingham has scored again for them. Maybe he will be that generational talent some were saying he would become. His career at Madrid had gotten off to a great start him.
