I’m more convinced than ever that this country is ran from top to bottom by incompetent/corrupt people. It’s a miracle that anything ever gets done.
I bet you can squeal like a pig!

It's not only here...Most of the western 'democracies' are run by the Oligarch billionaire class along with big corporations....The politicians are mere bought puppets....They call it fascism, most of us are seen as merely 'Useless eaters'....

Firstly, the fact that Darren England wanted the Ref to review the Curtis Jones tackle via VAR is understandable but this request by itself puts doubt in the Referees mind straight away, now whether or not it was a red card is subjective and it clearly divides opinion of both commentators, supporters and ex players alike.

However, to further compound the referees doubt, the first image he sees as he walks upto the monitor is a freezed frame image of the tackle at its worst point, this image is held for at least 5 seconds, he is then shown the tackle in slow motion which further compounds the referees doubt, and then last of all he shows the action in real time… This process is clearly flawed and unduly influences the referees decision making process… which as agreed by everybody who witnessed this, it was wrong and was a clear failure to operate VAR correctly.

We then have the video / audio of the Luis Diaz goal, no problems with the analysis at all, they quickly established Luis Diaz was onside so all good…

From that point on, it was a complete shit show…. the communication between VAR and the Ref didn't tell the Ref anything other than they have completed their check, it was not made clear to the Ref whether they had established if Diaz was either onside or offside, the Ref then failed to clarify this fact and assumed without clarification that Diaz was offside and so carried on regardless, which is incompetent at best.

The audio of VAR after the game restarted just beggars belief and despite knowing that they have made the biggest mistake possible they failed, despite prompts from a none VAR official “Oli” to delay / stop the game, Darren England realised his mistake and compounded this mistake by failing to stop the game and resolve the issue, hiding behind protocols that are clearly not fit for purpose… I think you will find the World Cup incident involving Zidanes head-but on Mazzerati technically should not have been recognised as it didnt follow the protocol in place at the time, but the incident was so grave the officials chose to do the right thing, rather than follow the rules… and stopped the game and the rest us history….

So under exceptional circumstances, and Sunday was exceptional, protocols should be treated as a guide but not used as an excuse to not correct a clear wrong.

Just incompetent end of … mind you we do have history with Mr England, he was in charge of VAR last season in the 3-2 loss to Arsenal when their first goal was not given offside when it should have been.

This season, guess who was in charge of VAR against Chelsea when we didn't get a penalty for handball,, yes Mr England…

Really, 3 episodes of rubbish decisions against LFC by the same VAR official…. thats incompetent at best and bloody suspicious at worst, who the fuck does this guy actually support…

Finally on the subject, Why didn't he at worst just stop the match, and contact Howard Webb directly for guidance…. 5 mins problem sorted.

    Rant over.

Having looked at the tackle from Kane on Robbo and the tackle from Jones, and i use the word tackle loosely last weekend. you cant make this shit up. The var "failed" to intervene on the Kane incident. (i remember Klopp asking if the Var guy was away from the room at the time) yet the Var namely Darren England intervened and showed a slow motion image and in fact showed the image on the 4 massive screens in the ground, which again is against the rules of the game the PGMOL are so proud off

VAR and Ref , depends in Diaz on/offside case is completely down to communication issues.
When set up, all systems based on sole remote comms system. A clear terminology and defined perimeters of use has to be in place, (obviously !!) .
As demonstrated it was more like a chat on the phone to mates in the pub.

To expand on another comment made, this country is mostly run by people who have been to University. Far too many rules, regulations and laws are debated and implemented by them and not DEMOCRATICALLY.
Just look at the complete shite coming out of University , lecturers and students at times.
Every stupidly bad decision implemented in this country now ,comes from theorists, and very little input is ALLOWED from the people it will impact on the most.

Universities teach the sciences and learn from history, and shove your woke ideals up your ...............!!

I like Ben Foster he seems to be taking our side on the whole thing. I like ex professionals who come out and go against the narrative instead of just toeing the line
