They’re not going to get rid of the shite they have there on bumper contracts or get any kind of fee for most of them
Varane’s now very injury prone, he’s 31 has 4 years on his 350k a week contract why’d he going to move? He came there to retire he’s won everything there is to win why would he take a huge pay cut to move to a less comfortable retirement treatment room?
The filthy bummed 4-0
Utd are dreadful , back four and midfield have absolutely no legs , mason mount what a swerve from us .
They'll roll over and die again allowing Arsenal to take the PL title to the final day.
Compare to the end of 20/2. Some of their fans have a tantrum at their owners and get our away trip to them postponed. Rescheduled to give us more games in the final week than anyone else challenging for top 4. Utd then get to field a youth side when playing Leicester a few days before. Resting their first choice but we still have the desire and quality to beat them scoring 4 goals.
That's always been a difference between our clubs for me. We didn't down tools to their extent between 1991 and 2019. Won a cup treble, added to our old big ears haul and made 2 more finals.
Just as before Fergie and their +25year wait and 31 year wait in Europe eating into his era. They buy too many egos from smaller clubs who may ve quality with enough drive but humility instilled by their boss and team mates. Utd needed a great youth set up coming to fruition, money to compete at transfers with all others and perhaps a single team or boss in competitio. Even the Wenger wins and challenges didn't last any longer than Klopp's era until Arsenal fell away. Chelsea got lucky with managerial roulette and claimed a few more PLs.
Just seen a stat set posted on Twitter.
Derby county 07/08 finished on 11 points and faced 629 shots at goal.
Utd with two games to go have already faced 618.
That is not sustainable, no team can sustain that and not lose lots of games. They've lost a third or more of their league games.
I would disagree with the downed tools comment.
Between 91 and 2000 there were plenty of players who downed tools for Liverpool. The spice boys were notorious for it hence why we were nowhere near a league title until GH came in and stopped the ship from sinking.
They have been appalling, the only difference keeping them from a relegation fight is the occasional brilliance from the likes of Fernandes or Rashford (when he turns up) to win them points they often do not deserve.
Goal difference 63 worse than the current league leaders
It hurts all the more though to know we failed to beat them in 3 attempts. How…? Probably that lack of a proper cutting edge if we are honest.
The FA cup game was a watershed moment though. We had them - we sodding well had them - all over them - like men v boys….. and the tie in our hands and that break away to go 3:1 up - I can’t get it out of my head.
Probably similar for Klopp and the players. A killer to go out of that the way we did to such a shocking United side. A sucker punch that we never made the count for in truth.
