Just watching highlights. Gravenberch looks one hell of signing.. Kudus to Jurgen and the rest for seeing the talent in him.

    Motm by a mile.

Only Jones, Elliott and Gomez struggled to impress.

Yeah i can understand Elliot, hes not been that impressive so far. Jones has done well enough so far this season and Gomez is Gomez.. In the game against Everton he came on and we were 1 up and near the end of the game. he was playing far up on the left hand side and he did a back heal. rather than just keep the ball in that area. Stuff like that i find so annoying. And no need for it at all.

An assist for Jota…thats stretching it a bit, Jota ran for 40 yards dancing past three four players and slotted it home …

2 key passes in 90mins interesting thought, I will have to watch the game again to see those particular gems… imho key passes off Gomez are as rare as hens teeth, tbh maybe I am being unkind, but his whole play just drives me to distraction at times.

Tbh I don't know whether he is just genuinely slow of mind or just simply too laid back for me, either way I am not convinced that he is the future… in the next two windows we are going to have to concentrate on revamping our defence, as Matip, Gomez and Tsimikas are not really top class defenders.

If we do get some serious defensive upgrades in, we will possess a squad capable of challenging at the highest level both home and abroad…

Great result though, despite my critique ..ha ha

    You're welcome

Still so much more to come from him too

What was great to see tonight, given it's something i mentioned he could have done better v the bitters was him driving the ball forward quite brilliantly at almost every opportunity it was on for him to do so and the right thing to do

He played a nicer pass than the assist or either key pass to put Jota away from deep, just evading Jota.

Only Endo 9 had more tackles & intercepts combined last night than Gomez 8.
Elliott managed 5 which is unheard of territory for him. Jones was dispossessed 6 times lat night an unusually high number for him.

According to the stats site player ratings
    Endo 8.8
Gravenb 8.7 (woulda been motm had he played 90)
    Núñez 8.5
    Gomez 8.3
    Jota/Trent 8.1

That’s the problem with going purely on stats, Gomez rated better than Jota and Trent while supposedly performing as well as Núñez and not even far behind Gravenberch.

I think not, Quansah is already a better option than Joe at CB

Disagree, stats are useful for the stuff people miss with their eyes.
