If you have to do it as a substitution when under no real pressure to do so (like with Matip going down injured), that's just an admission that the setup you started with is not working and hasn't worked all game.

And arguably hasn't been working for a while now.

Why is he having to be replaced at his natural position by someone (who in your estimation) offers next to nothing?

Have you wondered what it says about what he himself (Trent) offers in comparison?

Klopp moved him to dedicate him into midfield to get a winner. Obviously he is a better passer and creator than defender. We all knew that years ago. If you really think Trent shouldn’t be in our best XI than you must know and see things Klopp doesn’t.

Gomez is a poor backup anywhere on the backline and has been for years. Why he hasn’t been moved on is beyond me.

Don't like how Klopp is making subs recently. Goes for a tactical change but breaks the fluency as the change is wholesale. Affecting the entire. Balance. Subbing 2 midfielders to then throw in Trent there you have Grafenberch and Ttent who are not defensively strong. We are also outnumbered in midfield. You then ask Homez to play inverted. Not great tactic.

Agreed. We were crating chances, just need a cf with composure. Swap out nunez for gakpo before breaking up the whole formation.
