Winning this would be so good for setting us up for what's to come.
It takes place January 21st and due to the two Cup matches, we wouldn't have another LEAGUE game until the 31st, with that match being the first of a cluster of 3 League games that take us into mid-February - and two of those 3 are at Home against sides who don't score loads - Chelsea and Burnley - with the tricky away in the middle being Arsenal.
There is so much football to be played (particularly with the Cups) between now and mid-February and with a pretty light squad, but if we do weather this spell and get lads back as we go, things will be looking good.
Title "races" for me don't r-e-a-l-l-y become races for me until 26 games or so have been played, so rather than thinking of us being in a title race, I think of us as playing for the right to participate in one and we have worked brilliant to reach mid-January in top spot.
This next spell is the key bit. Man City have a lot of fixtures that look "easy" on paper and have De Bruyne back, so if we want to stay in contention we have to dig pretty deep. Still, so long as we have a lead we have to think of the pressure as being on them, not us.
Just keep winning games.

Jones has been excellent this season and hopefully is past his injury and growth issues - the shin splints were a real issue for him it seems.Originally Posted by Kev0909
