And right in front of the referee and he saw nothing.

At worst it was a free kick just at the edge of the box, but there's no question the challenge was late after the ball was gone.
I heard the commentators try to justify it not being given claiming he (Jota) was looking for it, but it doesn't change the fact that it was a foul.

Makes me wonder why noone wanted to loan him again above league 1 level too or I guess we wanted to keep him?

He's 20 not old, but look at trent and other top players age they came through and how good they was, he's not valued at 2m for no reason
