I know for certainty that I wouldn't get the same amount of pleasure from winning when money is no object.

It would be like winning an 100m Olympic gold medal by beating a load of handicapped kids.

Even when were dominating and the same when United were, we had to balance the books. We couldn't just keep fooking off full back, after full back for £50m a time...

The key point totally missed though right

So what has changed the landscape? Are people going to wilfully ignore the real culprit time and time again and make the lazy - quasi racist - claim that it is EXCLUSIVELY billionaire Russians and Arabs that have changed the goal posts when it absofuckinglutely is not.

When the inception of the Premier league itself - the floating of clubs on the stock market - leading up to the modern day - where the entire sport is setup, packaged, sponsored (take at look at by who) and TV monetised to within 95% of the US model it is edging closer and closer toward.

I realise I am talking to a very pro American group but seriously - that's nothing to be proud of at all.

When is money no object? This is a daft statement designed to back up a position which is completely false.

And you are more closely describing the culture of US ownership overwhelming our league. The entire setup is designed to benefit the profit seeker. The outlier clubs (notice never the real heavyweights) are there to keep the eyes of the fools occupied. This is classic practise

The 100m gold analogy a perfect example of what is happening to our NHS along similar lines. Handicap the framework so you can say it isn't fit for purpose and then sell it off.

This has been a long process but a very carefully managed one, just as private US interest is deliberately breaking up and devouring our NHS - their billionaire tax dodgers are doing the same with our clubs. And some of you want to herald it.

    What a crying shame

    the same thing..

It's all just a new market for more crooks to profit from and boost their billionaire wealth further - out of the hands of the many and into the hands of the few

I'm certainly not pro America, I juts happen to enjoy American sports.

I even pointed out that there are many things that have caused the situation we're in. But it all boils down to money. And City / Chelsea are part of it.

Russian, American, Arabs, it doesnt matter. The Martian's could take over Everton and pump moon money into the club and blow everyone out of the water. It would still be rubbish.

The moment any Football Club charges for admission into the ground, you have effectively opened Pandoras Box and if you aspire to succeed in this now Professional game you simply have to stay one step ahead of your competition.

The game has over the 140+ years evolved from a local game, to a regional game, to a National game, to an International game and now its a Global game ….. and likewise the commercial side of the game has grown in equal measure.

Its not ideal, buts unfortunately its called progress or evolution or selling out.

I suppose, we can all hark back to bygone days, but that has been true of every supporter throughout the history of the game… it was better back in my days.

When i referred to FSG’s ownership model as a good template for football going forward, maybe I phrased this poorly.

In principal what I was trying to point out is what FSG have managed to achieve during their tenure, taking us from the brink of Administration 14 years ago, whilst achieving so much success on and off the field, whilst improving the stadia and training facilities.

The highly respected top of the table team and Academy we have today, has all been achieved within a level of strict financial sustainable constraints, that virtually every Premier League could afford and replicate, rather than the unavailable and unsustainable State sponsored approach that the likes of Chelsea and Man City have enjoyed over the years..

Good lord - you’re falling over yourself again to miss the huge elephant in the room. And why - Oh yes cause it comes from across the pond,

Stop deflecting. It’s what you all do. I don’t know if deep down you are scared to call out the culprit - that set these wheels in motion - the rampant over commercialisation of the sport. Those who are moving in en mass to clean up. The real bully. You simply refuse to notice the root cause of the problem and instead pour the finger at the Usual suspects as ordained by our jingoistic ALWAYS pro American owned and controlled media.

this is the problem that no media in the UK will focus on.

    Key nugget from the article.

"US sports in general are ahead of European sports and leagues in terms of commercialization and monetization of various assets, however, the majority of them do not have the international reach of football,"

This is precisely what is happening to our NHS only that is much more dangerous and much further down the line.

All done under the guise of a benign interaction - and in the face of bogeymen either allowed or imagined.

in the case of the NHS at one stage they used hacking as an excuse to infiltrate US private sector money.

In our football they allowed rampant spending to be utilised by a few clubs - Yet nobody mentions United - who have spent the most! Hmm Peculiar…?

The quasi racism is clear and obvious. If the Glazers do it - we laugh - when they ain’t winning at least… when Chelsea did it and won the lot - we ripped the club away from the owner and placed a Yank in charge.

    You couldn’t make it up

The NHS is a real favourite of yours, they've mutilated the development of numerous kids, support men competing in women's sport against their wishes and participate in the eugenic practice of deleting 73 million unborn children a year

You seemed all in favour of #blm on your bernie/corbyn side, an American of disrepute honoured at games in ways the victims of your politics never got anywhere near their same attention.
1 American victim of police > 100,000 gangraped girls as young as 10-11 years of age.

You complain to me about the anglo-americanisation of Ireland but you support their practices in reality.

I see you've resolved to it must be racism again, and I see the police in the uk still carry your anti-racist politics and girls are still being left prey upon by nasty men of a diverse background. Each of them should be hung.
