Quite true - and in general it’s not restricted to them at all - it goes for many players - you would know that there is no place for slacking for sure.

But Europes largest nation - by a distance - one its most successful footballing nations and Jurgen hasn’t landed a single Kraut.

It’s strange - and to my mind at least, it feels like there has either been a concerted effort by Jurgen NOT to capture German talent OR a similar effort by German players - or possibly their agents - to overlook playing for Jurgen at Liverpool.

There have been so many quality German players in the top sides all around Klopp’s Liverpool..

It's certainly a question worth asking Steveo. How many German players have we been linked with during his tenure? Havertz and Werner are the ones that stand out to me. If I remember correctly Wener wanted to come at one point??? They both ended up at Chelsea on massive contracts and we've seen examples recently of players choosing the money at Chelsea over playing for Klopp.

There was also Julian Brandt, would he have come to us at the time? I can't really remember but I think we ended up taking the decision that Salah would be a better option. Klopp went against his own opinion and took the advice of his staff on that call too.

It would seem there has been interest on both sides for this to happen, so maybe it is merely coincidental that it has never materialised.

I don't think Konate makes this so it will be gomez at CB.. He has played well at the full back positions, he worries me at CB though.

Id be happy with a draw in this one.

Konate might play, but with hamstring injuries you need to be careful. Id be very surprised if Konate plays.

Gakpo won't start. Salah, nunez and Diaz in the front 3. I think midfield of endo, Szobo and macca. Then back 4 of bradley, gomez, vvd and Robertson.

Konate was subbed as a precaution cos he felt something in the hamstring. That's why I don't think he plays today. Risk of doing long term damage.
