Having a right-footer at left-back may be helpful in terms of cutting off access to the half-space to be fair. Think Arbeloa v Messi.

Oh look we still have 9 players missing through injury, City has one Grealish. Injuries, rigged early kick offs, corrupt officials, VAR every perfectly good goal to try find a reason to rule it out, and change the rules to suit. Everything going against us. City are favourites by a country mile. Pressure on them as they're at full strength. Anfield has to be a fortress and defensively we have to be at our best, For us to win today.

That's a pen at the end. How the VAR didn't ask him to look at it.

I said I would be happy with draw before it, would have bitten your hand off at half time for a draw. But at the end, disappointed we didn't win.

At least one of them will drop points in their next league match. We are at home the same weekend to Brighton and play before them.

Not convinced Szobo, Salah and are really fit enough to really start this one, so Szobo inclusion ahead of Elliot is wishful thinking, Salah off the bench seems a better option 35 / 40 mins against a tiring City sounds a good strategy given his lack of minutes…

Robbo has been well off the pace since he has come back, so I would stick with Gomez at left back, Quansah against Haaland is more of a concern than Konate, but if he aint fit, Quansah it has to be….

Its good to have some 1st team players back, its just unfortunate that the City game is not a couple of more games away to allow them to get upto speed but It is what it is… hopefully the kids can come on as and when required and perform really well.

    C’mon Brentford
Not a bad shout on the line-up and subs tbh … but after a quite magnificent effort especially in the second half, wow!!!, Diaz should have had a hat trick, and once again we woz fucking robbed by the Ref and VAR..
