Liverpool Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Gerry Marsden.
A Scouser and lifelong Liverpool fan, Marsden was the lead singer of 1960s Merseybeat band Gerry and the Pacemakers, whose rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone was adopted by the Kop in 1963.
RIP Gerry ynwa

If you're not sure what to do with the ball, just put it in the net, and we'll talk about the other options later... Bob Paisley.
RIP Gerry.
YNWA
Blimey. Some times you think people are immortal. That is sad news.
RIP Gerry.
At least he knew he would live forever on the kop.
Just got the bad news. RIP legend..!
Aged 78. RIP. YNWA.
I bet you can squeal like a pig!
I was only listening to you'll never walk alone yesterday.. RIP.
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
I was just reading his obituary. I didn't know he was born in the Dingle. Probably he would have been an Everton fan growing up. It wasn't a 100% stat, but mostly Dingle was Everton and Toxteth was Red.
But he performed often in front of the kop and was always there on the hillsboro days. RIP.
I was lucky enough to see him lead the Kop a few times from the pitch with You'll never walk alone. A true LFC legend .
And you'll never walk alone - RIP
