Week 21 results
After the number and frequency of fixtures calmed down last week, a number of participants would have been hoping to build upon the half decent scores that they posted, however judging by what actually transpired, they may come away from week 21 feeling a tad disappointed given it is one of the worst set of scores I can remember.
Nobody got more than one perfect score, or predicted the correct result in more than five games. As a result of this collective failure, the contestants who get to share top spot on the podium this week with a mammoth seven points apiece are this week's joint winners CCTV and Fayyazms. Finishing a point further back in joint third were BlackSalmon and Joetan.
The only person worthy of getting a special mention this week is BlackSalmon who was the only person to get the Southampton v Aston Villa score spot on. One thing worthy of note is how many people got the Everton v Newcastle and Leicester v Leeds scores the wrong way round.
Week 21 scores
CCTV = 7 points (1 perfect score and 4 correct results - West Ham v Liverpool)
Fayyazms = 7 points (1 perfect score and 4 correct results - Chelsea v Burnley)
BlackSalmon = 6 points (1 perfect score and 3 correct results - Southampton v Aston Villa)
Joetan = 6 points (1 perfect score and 3 correct results - West Ham v Liverpool)
Kev0909 = 5 points (1 perfect score and 2 correct results - Chelsea v Burnley)
Balinkay = 5 points (5 correct results)
Charliev = 5 points (5 correct results)
Ianlfc = 5 points (5 correct results)
Dicko1969 = 4 points (1 perfect score and 1 correct result - Chelsea v Burnley)
Redebreck = 4 points (4 correct results)
Reddownunder = 4 points (4 correct results)
RedNoodle = 3 points (3 correct results)
Skyebo = 3 points (3 correct results)
Current standings
So what if any difference has that set of bumper scores made to the table? Well despite having one of his worst weeks, last years champion Reddownunder now occupies top spot on his own. He is a point ahead of Skyebo who has been on a bad run of form of late and has squandered the sizeable lead that he had. He'll hope to arrest that slide asap, one that is very reminiscent of 'our' own recent slide down the table.
As a result of his joint week winning total, Fayyazms has moved up into third where he is a point ahead of Balinkay and Kev0909 who now share that fouth and final CL spot. Elsewhere CCTV and Joetan move up a couple of places, whilst just as in real life, I continue my rapid decent towards the foot of the table.
Reddownunder = 133
Skyebo = 132
Fayyazms = 128
