Champion's League Draw - 11am
Coverage begins at 10.45am and they'll no doubt blather on a while, but the draw is meant to occur at 11am.
Teams will be drawn out so we have 4 quarter-finals, then balls will be drawn (1 to 4) to determine the semi-finals - 1 may play 3 while 2 plays 4 for example.
The side drawn first will play at Home in the first leg for the quarters. I think dates are predetermined for each quarter by number in terms of whether we play on the Tuesday or the Wednesday but am not 100% on that - we'll know in a few hours anyway.
The perfect draw for us in my eyes would be -
QF1 - Liverpool v Benfica
QF2 - Villarreal v Atletico Madrid
QF3 - Real Madrid v Chelsea
QF4 - Bayern v Man City
With the winners of 1 and 2 to face each other in the semi-final, then the winners of 3 and 4. Chances of it panning out just that fortuitously are slim, but that looks our "easiest" route.
A quick side-note on our title challenge - I wouldn't want Man City in the Final, but them getting to the semi-final (then losing) probably is a good thing to keep their schedule congested in the hope they enter a League match a little tired and drop points somewhere to give us wiggle-room, or possibly escape rope if we mess up somewhere.
We're capable of course of beating anyone, but the easier draw would be preferable when challenging for multiple pots - we saw a touch of legginess in the first half of the Arsenal game and we will need a sprint finish to this long run we have been on - any chance to have something in reserve would be welcome.
Best of luck Reds, hope everyone is off to a good start on a beautiful morning.
