Thread: Your 2022-2023 season's expectations and aspirations

    Liverpool wages are high.
    Top 3 in England ?
    £348m a year.

Taking those names off would reduce it by around £50m a year. That's £250m over 5 years.
    Huge amount.

The squad that did well from 2018 through to 2022 got rewarded with new contracts and so on.
Now it is time to unfold that.

Agree - but should have happened continuously year on year. Huge ask to do it all in one go

That list is big and yes that’s a revolution in terms of numbers… would take a while to get that many players working to a plan.
Just to add - pretty laughable to think that (assuming the publicly accessible info is correct) Diaz is on 56k-per-week to Adrian's 60k-per-week.

Another reason to go for talent from the Portuguese League at times - the wages out there are comparatively low so you can bring someone in whilst still having a lot of wiggle-room for future contract upgrades without shafting yourself. If a time comes when they aren't being productive there isn't as massive a wage-drain.

How is Adrian still at the club picking up that wage packet. Another example of poor player/contract management the last couple of years.

Is it at all possible he is going to become #1 backup,as it's rumoured Kelleher is for sale in the summer.

Ok 51 points for us still to play for and probably our main rivals for top four to come next. With key players returning from injury and on the back of our best performance since City at home, we have an excellent chance to get back into the top four race.
Newcastle are stuttering, time to twist the knife.

    Top four beckons

But ffs lads don’t make last night’s performance and result into another false dawn.

    I don't (yet) see it.

It's possible, certainly - but we need to go on a bit of a run whilst simultaneously seeing multiple sides splutter.

We need to be better than Newcastle, need to be better than Tottenham, need to be better than Brighton, need to be better than Brentford, need to be better than Fulham, need Chelsea to continue to struggle - AND we need to become good quickly.

With 16 games left we still have time, but a few matches from now the business end will be looming on the Horizon. The clock will begin to tick as we will start running out of opportunities to capitalise on the falterings of others.

Newcastle are drawing a lot of games. We have lost 3 of our last 5 - so they are still pulling away.

Realistically we could do with beating Newcastle and I foresee a draw. But a draw doesn't kill us off - they have Man City soon after us and could lose. If Newcastle do win against us however I think that's it done and we'd be looking to a Monster-run in the Champion's League.

Hopefully we beat Newcastle and then beat Palace - that would make the table really interesting all-of-a-sudden. Until then, I still rate Newcastle, Brighton and Tottenham's chances a bit higher than our own - but at least the door remains ajar rather than locked.

Well we have 17 more games to play but yeah one swallow and all that.

We have to look forward and not backwards, a win at Newcastle would further dent their confidence and boost ours. It’s back to back performances we have struggled to put together

Were gonna make the CL by winning that mofo.
Arty Melo to score the winner in the final.

"...lovely cushioned header for MELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Liverpool have won it in stoppage time"
