"If Everton were playing at the bottom of my garden, i'd close the curtains”
Clint is the actor Tuco is a Leone character. Eli would be his co star, let’s get it right eh 19.
It seems mixing things up is a theme.
“It’s getting tougher”
Either way dicko posted some wise words. Words worth thinking about. Probably both of us .
Ultimately in 5 years , this argument will be irrelevant.
Nothing can change the past.
We only ever live in the present moment.
Time is an illusion.
Albert Einstein once wrote: People like us who believe in physics know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion. Time, in other words, he said, is an illusion. Many physicists since have shared this view, that true reality is timeless.
The likelihood, the future , is a midfield without 7 of the current midfield.
Only Bajcetic and Elliott will probably be here in 2024-25
It sounds like an abductor issue.
If you don't ensure a player is appropriately rested and recovered then the impact further down the line can cause issues - Keita's issue where he played with Guinea (when we wanted him rested) was an abductor thing too I believe.
Imagine being such a fanny that you let a small issue of an injury prevent you from playing in the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu....
That's very much a fan perspective, which I understand of course as we'd give anything to play at the Bernabeu for Liverpool, but it's more nuanced than that.
Firstly, a decision not to play is likely made by Klopp and/or the medical staff, for Stefan's long-term benefit.
If he doesn't report his issue, he could end up worsening an injury. Stefan is surrounded daily by senior lads he gets ahead of due either to their injuries (Melo) or the Domini effect of a history of injuries (Keita, Ox, Jones) - he is an absolute baby in footballing terms at 18 and won't want to jeopardise himself.
That's short-term (playing through pain and thus at less than the 100% needed against Real Madrid and potentially getting hauled off at half-time for not being "on it") and long-term (worsening what is likely a mild issue for now to the detriment of his development and dropping in the pecking order just as he is close to being primed to break through as a handy squad player) and he would be taking this risk for a lost cause of a match where we need every single player to be perfect to stand a chance.
Lost cause versus minimising risk early in a career that could last 16 more years if he plays to the age of 34 and his not playing probably (inadvertently) helps to facilitate Milner getting to play what is very likely to be his last opportunity to feature at the Bernabeu.
On the surface it's easy to judge Stefan here but the decision NOT to play (whether it's his or that of the staff) is likely the right one.
As if the midfielders matter in this game. They're all pretty poor anyway.
The only chance we have are the strikers doing a manutd where almost every shot goes in. Need the defenders to put in some blocks/saves with Ali.
It'll immensely help if madrid have a stinker too, or not 'try' till they're 2 Down.
Season over for the lad.
