we are liverpool football club, not fucking norwich.
What does that mean? When did we fall from the top? The season we were going for all 4 trophies? Or last season?
Again, the comment I replied to was "Only 1 Premier League, Only 1 Champions League". So if that's crap and we should ditch the owners then what is the right number?
We could have won 4 PL, 3 CL, 1 EL, 3 EFLs, 2 FA Cups, 3 WCCs
We did win 1 PL, 1 CL, 0 EL, 2 EFLs, 1 FA Cup, 1 WCC.
Apologies super cup & charity shield. Most of the above under Klopp of course.
2.5 PL titles, 2 CL titles, half a EL, 2 WCCs, and say 2 Fa Cup and EFL titles.... splits the difference.
3 PL & 0 EL or 2 PL & 1 EL if one's wedded to whole numbers.
There a lovely sound to 2 time champion, and 7 times CL winners or 20-21X.
Under FSG we stabilised under Kenny who was happy enough to step aside having answered a SOS call. Rose and Fell under Rodgers and have largely thrived under Klopp.
1st fall under Klopp was when we scraped top4 in the PL season 20/21 and the second was last season not making top4.
Owners are not responsible for title wins… BUT even on that marker.., admittedly at a stretch you could say
H&G nearly won what we have under Klopp. Missed out V AC Milan and came within a whisker of beating the best United side ever assembled in 2009. A year when we were ranked number 1 in Europe and handed Real a 5:0 aggregate battering.
We made 2 CL finals under FFS Parry and H&G in just 2 years. One owner who admitted they had to sell and the other a couple of cowboys,
This is Liverpool FC unless you had forgotten. Most successful club in the land. Plenty still talk as though we were a nothing club until NESV/FSG rocked up. It’s ludicrous. Like all predators they go after the lame. That is what we were at that moment.
To date FSG have in their pocket £500 the million from their 10% sale to Redbird which means they have got all their money back on this club long since. They now enjoy the full weight of the £3/4 billion estimated value of the club as collateral. This is what is driving their latest franchise expansions.
We were to be sold last autumn on top to cash out and finally get them into the NFL. The holy grail for them. The cash generator.
All of this has transpired while stiffing Liverpool FC at every juncture. Small timing it on infrastructure AND crucially Jurgen Klopp in particular. Seeing his ability to get the most from the least as a guide to give him the bare minimum.
No crazy money for Coutinho though and things would look very different,. But we did take in £142 million… And boy did he make the most of it. But for him - FSG are most likely still pointing to that Cup Triumph under Kenny.
Great managers make the big difference. See Shankly - Paisley - Ferguson - Wenger - Rafa - Klopp
Owners only really come into it when they act like Abramovic - or Mansour and even then unless the right man is at the helm it’s tough to stay at the top IF you can even get there.
Crediting FSG for Klopp’s freakish achievement (like he did at Dortmund) while not accepting the brilliance of the man allied to the ONE single time he was properly backed - in the wake of Coutinho’s sale… is nuts
Good read

Conclusion:
As LFC fans, we aren’t fighting against Financial Fair Play (FFP). Our struggle is against this mentality, which has been saved by Klopp and PL money. We haven’t built a stadium, we are not Arsene’s Arsenal with Emirates Stadium (they needed the savings because the PL/CL money wasn’t enough). We only built stands yet we have substantial PL and TV money.
LFC have no sustainable competitive advantage: no wealthy owners, or owners willing to invest, no academy, no top scouts unearthing gems and value for either the youth or senior teams, and contrary to common belief — LFC is not very well run.
Either we make our voices heard or we accept mediocrity.
Yeah very good, we think we're well run because of the awful clowns before FSG......
why should we not want better? everyone around us has it better

Mansoor Bin Ebrahim Al-Mahmoud who is the Managing Director of Qatar Investment Authority has held talks last week in England regarding Liverpool Football Club.
The investment firm were trying to put pressure on FSG to sell the club to them.

They will cut and run as soon as Klopp leaves. Wether thats sooner or later is another thing but once he's gone they know the game is up and they'll have nobody to deflect or hide behind.
