Im just thinking I wonder if wrinkle dick mcduck celebrated nunez winner?(if he was even watching, no doubt illegal stream no need to pay) But if he was. he'd struggle to stand with all that change in his pockets.

Of the two areas and our "make-do" solutions should we done with transfer business, I'd be much more concerned about centre-back than midfield at present.

    Centre-back

    Assuming Phillips leaves it's -

    - Van Dijk
    - Konate (injury-prone, usually niggles)
    - Matip (injury-prone, in decline)
    - Gomez (injury-prone, recovery pace not what it was)
    - Quansah (untested at the highest level
    - Endo as an emergency option
    - Bajcetic as an emergency option (this was his position at youth level for a while)

    ...whereas...

    Midfield

    - Szoboszlai (good injury record)
    - Mac Allister (good injury record)
    - Endo (good injury record)
    - Thiago (hopefully injured less due to rotation)
    - Jones
    - Elliott
    - Bajcetic
    - Gakpo can play 8 in an emergency, though I don't like it
    - Trent could do midfield while Bradley or Gomez covered here and there
    - Midfielders often easier to buy in January than centre-backs

Of our "break glass" options we are definitely thinner in the centre-back department, both for quality and reliability.

Yeah I'd agree too. Whilst I'd definitely like another midfielder its at CB we could really be in trouble with.
There's rumours Nat might be going to Celtic on loan. If he does we surely bring one in and I'd presume he'd have to be homegrown?

Another injury in defence. Conor bradley, not major but hopefully back I time for carabao / fá cup action to give someone a rest. The squad is getting smaller by the week with these injuries.

    WTF are FSG playing at?
Smallest squad in the Premier league, if what I have read is to be believed.
The loss of Champions league revenue seemingly is affecting our ability to get our squad up to scratch.
