True story aswell by all accounts.
This is one of those games where we should have enough but we may not. A game after internationals, 12.30 kickoff away from home, missing a few key players. We can't take anything for granted here.
I'm not very confident of a win given the circumstances but expectations are we should be winning this game.
Pffft we’re gonna need a bigger. B.o.a.t
Having read about today’s training session, Trent trained on his own which means he won’t meet Jurgen’s two full training sessions criteria, before returning from injury, maybe he’ll be on the bench.
Back four if he makes it
TAA Konate Gomez Robbo
If he doesn’t the team will be
Alisson
Gomez
Konate
Matip
Robbo
Szoboszlai
MacAllister or Endo
Gravenberch
Salah
Gakpo
Jota
It's really down to us not being complacent and not mucking up the first 15-20 minutes.
Even with rotated players we should - SHOULD - be better than Wolves. Man for man we would be better than them in nearly every position of the pitch, so despite the banana-skin factor, we just need to get on with it.
I am not a fan of the early Saturday but IF we win, we can relax all weekend and watch the other results come in without panicking.
Any kind of a win would be more than welcome. Ball bouncing in off Gravenberch’s backside - an OG - or even a glancing deflection off the referees left testie..
Don’t care - just get them points in the sack.
Alisson (c)
Gomez Matip Konate Robbo
Sobozla Endo MacA Diaz
Salah Nunez
That was my team after the last game. Nunez is out so Gakpo or Jota to come in for him. Probably start Gakpo.
Think Trents been fairly gash so far, and culpable for our goals conceded.
Would like to see Alisson captain the side too, still can't believe he was overlooked.
Quite interesting looking towards the other matches.
If Man United were to lose they would have lost 5 of their opening 3 games which would apply a little pressure.
Similarly, Newcastle lost 5 League games (total) last season and could be facing a 4th defeat from their opening 5 if they were to lose.
A win for us early in the weekend (fingers crossed) would leave us kicking our feet up and hopefully witnessing hilarity occur elsewhere - certainly the Arsenal v Everton game feels like a "win win" for us provided we handle our own business.
