Can we be Christmas number 1????

A few key differences were -
- Better movement off the ball tonight versus the static position-holding against Man United
- Runs made by our forwards spotted earlier tonight by the midfield with better passes made towards them
- Better finishing
- Crowd tonight seemed on it
In the Man United match there were several chances that could easily have gone in on another day. Won't list them all, but there were -
- A Konate header
- A Gakpo header
- A Van Dijk header
- A Konate swivel and strike in the box
- Trent running onto a ball and dragging it wide where Onana didn't move, ie he had about 60% of the net to aim for and Onana wouldn't have saved it, but it goes wide
We get one or two of those finished and we say "far from perfect, but we won" - but it didn't happen.
Hope this helps a bit.
Can we be Christmas number 1????
I totally agree with your back four Gomez @ RB, as I believe he is a more secure option and will deal better with the threat of Martinelli… and I have always considered Konate & Van Dijk as our best centre half combo and Tsimikas is our only viable option @ LB so he picks himself.
However, I would probably keep Endo as defensive 6, with Trent to his right and Szloboslai to his left…
The front three I would switch Salah for Gakpo and see how that goes…..
Nineteen’s line up will do for me, the only position up for grabs is Endo in at 6 with Trent out to RB but I think Arsenal like to play and will leave gaps for Trent to exploit plus I would rather have Gomez deal with Martinelli than worry about Trent wandering off to midfield when starting at RB.
Endo will be the 6. Gomez will be left back. I also suspect Klopp will start Elliot in midfield alongside Endo and Sz8. But it could be Jones. But I suspect Klopp will play Elliot.
Same front 3 are going to start. Diaz is out of form.
Endo wis very guid against The Hammers mid week.
Yes he was, and I think he reads the game well, tackles well, is physically robust. But he gets caught in possession a bit.
And it was a terrible West ham team that was put out.
